7 Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires

Am I the only reader who reacts poorly to this article's blurb, "Learn how to generate multimillion-dollar wealth"? That's the lead to the sleaziest of advertisements and sounds all so false, and inauthentic. I really have a hard time with the hard sell, which also sounds totally unrealistic. Is that just me?

We are self-made multimillionaires, and did and do exactly the opposite of the given suggestions. We know others of our same ilk. We saw a need, had the creativity to meet the need, and organized ourselves to provide work for those who could join us in meeting that need. We reinvest the proceeds to make the business grow in a stable way, and are now owners of a business worth several million dollars. Rich people die with millions in the bank. It's part of their thinking. My goal is to spend every dollar I have while I am alive. I don't want anything to show for it when I am gone.

I have found that self made millionaires also need the ability to step on others backs. I am not one because I refuse to do that!

I once infiltrated the secret meeting of the current millionares of north america club. They had this up on a big cheap overhead projector that uses plastic transparencies and they this was part of a project to misdirect people to keep them poor. If everyone is a millionare then everyone is poor.

One thing this person who wrote this forgets...If everyone were rich, who would support the endeavors of the rich? For example...take Starbucks. You missed the main lesson your mom tried to teach you---life is about love, caring for those you love, and sacrifice to maintain the precious loves in your life. And all you have to say about your mom, who sacrificed everything for you, is that she instilled a sence of scarcity and fear in you! I'm not sure that just going after the money alone works out very well. Depends on what you have to sacrifice. You can make a lot of money, and still be a very lonely person. Perhaps finding something you love to do, then doing it really well, is part of the key. It's easier to be enthusiastic when talking to others about something when you already have a passion for it. Perhaps another key is to keep some balance wrt family and friends. Even Peter Lynch found time for his family.

Captain Obvious must wrote this! All this tells you is how people with money and access to money get rich, "all good", however, that last part about how rich people want you to be rich is just about the strangest BS I ever heard! "If everyone we're rich, than no one would be rich"

I laugh at all the negative comments, you know they're poor and will always be poor. They are good at snide negative remarks tho. I brought my son with me to the bank, the teller could not believe that I owned a successful business, she kept saying, "You own a business? You?! I don't believe it." I told my son that's why she'll always be poor, she doesn't believe it can happen.

The question not being asked is this - do you really want $100,000,000? I've got two words that say you don't. Two words that'll crush your desire to be that rich. Those magic words are "kidnap insurance". If you're not deterred by those two words, how can we trust you? lol this sounds like what my life has recently began turning into in these past few years. I am at the begginning of my multi-million dollar tale. Cant think poor even if you have nothing. that thought process will drag you and others down with you. It's going to be one hell of a ride. :)

The last two words sum it up for this guy, I doubt there is any amount of wealth that will satisfy these kinds of people. Yes America is a great place to live and I am proud to be an american but there is more to life than money.

Sounds like the government paid msn to write this article to stimulate the economy and forget the deficit and depression and give hope and everything is cool...maybe not...who knows.

Let me translate these steps into English. 1 - Put money 1st. 2 - Abandon the poor. 3 - Make greed your creed. 4 - Hang with criminals so... 5 - You can learn how to steal legally. 6 - Back criminal enterprises that steal from the poor (steal from the rich, & you go to jail). 7 - Steal from as many poor people as you can. Remember stealing from the poor is capitalism. Not just legal, it's God's will because poverty is a character flaw.

Just because you got lucky on your deal doesn't make you a guru. Most rich people either inherited the money or got lucky. They all think they are geniuses but ask them how many of their new companies are making them millions. The answer is that the new companies lose there existing millions. As a wealthy person once told me "it is better to be lucky then good". He was talking about Bill Gates.

I sort of agree with "No. 2: Get rid of poverty thinking" - except I don't think that's really "poverty thinking" - it's how most people think. It's true on some level that to make money you have to spend money. You've gotta take out that business loan, or empty out your savings to make that prototype. "Get rid of poverty thinking" is a lot easier said than done. Especially when you're not sure how you're going to manage. It's kind of abrasive and unfriendly to suggest that poverty is just thinking.
